BLUE CARD EU

🔵

EU Blue Card (Member 33k of the Black Sea Region)

Highly qualified specialists with higher education (from 3 years) or work experience from 5 years can obtain an EU Blue Card in Bulgaria if they have an employment contract with a Bulgarian employer.

💶 The salary under the contract is not less than 1.5 times the average gross salary in Bulgaria (~2,000–2,300 EUR gross). For IT specialists, the coefficient is 1.2x.
Blue EU Card in Bulgaria

The EU Blue Card is a special status for highly qualified foreign professionals, which gives both a residence permit and a work permit in Bulgaria for up to 4 years. Bulgaria is one of the most affordable EU countries for obtaining a blue card: the requirements here are more lenient than in Germany or France.

The key advantage over a regular labor residence permit is mobility in the EU. After 12 months of working in Bulgaria, you can move to another EU country under a simplified scheme. Family members receive a residence permit automatically and have the right to work without additional permits.

The Blue Card is also a path to permanent residence and, in the future, to European citizenship. The average processing time is 4-6 weeks from the date of submission of documents by the employer.
