What is a Trade Mission?
Foreign companies carrying out commercial activities in their country can open trade offices abroad, including in the Republic of Bulgaria. A trade mission (TP) represents the interests of the parent company in another country and carries out a non-commercial type of activity, for example: negotiations with potential business partners, promotions and exhibitions, advertising of services and goods, marketing research and writing business plans, etc. has no right to carry out independent economic activity. The maintenance of the Trade Representation is carried out only at the expense of funds transferred for its maintenance from the main company from abroad. Trade representations of foreign legal entities are registered with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The Trade Representation entitles its employees to obtain the status of Residence permit in Bulgaria, According to Article 24, paragraph 1, paragraph 6. of the "Law on Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria (ZCHRB)". According to the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, annual reporting to the National Statistical Institute (NSI) is provided for TPs. A Trade Representation in Bulgaria can be organized from a legal entity (except for an individual entrepreneur) of any other country except Bulgaria. A representative can be one or more persons to whom a residence permit can be issued after registration of a TP. In order to register a TP and appoint representatives, the consent of the head (director) of the company is required. Representatives can be both founders (participants) of the company or its employees, and third parties who have nothing to do with this company. For registration, notarized copies of the company's constituent documents and scanned copies of passports of future employees of the trade mission in Bulgaria are required. All actions for registration of TP and preparation documents for visa D can be made without the presence in Bulgaria of the head (director) of the company and representatives. Representatives will receive by mail a ready-made package of documents for applying for a visa D. Deadlines for the preparation of all documents, namely: translation and legalization of documents, registration of the TP, further registration of the TP in Bulstate, the tax service, obtaining an up-to-date certificate, as well as the preparation and receipt of all other documents necessary for a D visa, takes 3-4 weeks. If the representatives are a spouse, then the documents for a visa D for minor children must be submitted along with the package of documents of the father or mother. Constituent documents are cheaper and faster to translate into Bulgarian and legalize on the territory of Bulgaria. It will take 4-10 days if you have notarized copies of the originals.
