What is a D visa to Bulgaria?

Visa D or immigration visa is the first step to obtaining a residence permit in Bulgaria (residence permit). This is a long-term residence visa, which is issued to foreigners to obtain a long-term residence permit in Bulgaria. The visa is valid for 180 days, the number of entries and exits is unlimited.  D visas are issued by the Bulgarian diplomatic and consular services in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries. When applying for a visa D and when obtaining a visa, personal presence is required. Bulgaria D visa is granted on the grounds defined by law. These are such grounds as a registered trade representation of a foreign legal entity, the "wealthy pensioner" program, studying at a higher educational institution, opening a company in Bulgaria, kinship with a foreigner living in the country (family reunification) and others. The approximate processing time for a D visa is from 45 to 60 working days from the date of submission of documents.
