As for the punishment by deprivation of CT, there are also innovations. For incorrectly installed registration numbers, 8 checkpoints will be "minused", for "not properly registered" the car will be deprived of 10 CTs at once. For driving on the "red", as well as if the driver does not let a pedestrian pass at a pedestrian crossing, the punishment will not change – 8 points will still be taken away. But for the repetition of one of these offenses, the police officer will take away 12 CTs. Novice drivers will now initially receive 26 points, which will increase to a maximum of 39 only after 2 years of practical driving experience. In addition, the Bulgarian traffic police decided to seriously take up remote speed control. In the near future, 15 more stationary video cameras will appear on the roads of the country, in addition to the already installed video recorders. With their help, not only will speeding cases be recorded, but they will also detect cars without compulsory insurance. By the end of this year, it is planned to purchase another 84 portable video recorders, which will be distributed among regional departments. On April 10, 2017, the head of the Metropolitan Police, Mladen Marinov, spoke about another initiative of the police leadership. Its goal is to reduce the level of aggression on the roads. From now on, any driver of an expensive car who shows aggression will be checked for the origin of income. "As soon as we receive a signal about such manifestations, pre-trial proceedings will immediately begin against the person.
