Buying shares in Bulgarian companies can bring much more income than investing in real estate or, especially, in bank deposits. This assessment was made by analysts of the business publication Investor.bg, based on the analysis of the SOFIX stock index. Over a 12-month period, as of May 2017, Bulgarian shares increased in price by 49.94% (!).
Thus, they demonstrated a much higher return compared to investments in deposits and real estate. Incomes from which today fluctuate from close to zero in the case of deposits, and from 7 to 18% (according to various estimates), in the situation with real estate.
Experts of the resource provided a short list of Bulgarian companies that, according to SOFIX, reported the most active growth, recalling that the main index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) includes 15 enterprises. So, the fastest growing company was the First Investment Bank (Fibank), whose share price increased by 215.56% over the year and reached today's BGN 5.68. per share. The second place with an indicator of +134.05% (up to BGN 18.49 per share) was taken by the company from Shumen "Alcomet AD". The company produces aluminum profiles, 95% of which are exported. In third place is Stara Planina Hold AD with an increase of 97.22% (up to BGN 7.8 per share). The holding's assets are invested in the following enterprises: "M+S Hidravlik AD" (Kazanlak), "Hidravlichni elementi i sistemi AD" (Yambol), "Elkhim-Iskra AD" (Pazardzhik) and "Bulgarska roza AD" (Karlovo). All companies are export-oriented.
The fourth place with an increase of 78.07% (to the current BGN 0.907 per share) was taken by the holding company Eurohold Bulgaria AD, whose main asset is an insurance company in Romania. The fifth place was taken by the shares of the Central Cooperative Bank with an increase of 66.49% (up to BGN 1.61 per share). At the same time, analysts emphasize that none of the 15 Bulgarian companies from SOFIX has fallen in price over a 12-month period.
