The Bulgarian government has approved amendments to the Rule of Law on Foreigners. The amendments are designed to revise the services provided by administrative bodies and reduce the administrative burden on citizens and businesses.

Changes to the Rule reduce the time for obtaining a permit for a long-term and permanent stay from three to two months. There is no need to provide the seven previously required documents, copies and declarations, which will now be collected administratively. The requirement to provide a certified copy of BULSTAT and a declaration of name identity if this information is contained in other documents of the foreigner is canceled.
