According to the international HR consulting company ManpowerGroup, in the next three months, a record high percentage of Bulgarian employers plan to hire additional staff. Almost every fifth manager sees the need to expand the staff. At the same time, 79% of respondents do not yet plan changes and only 3% are thinking about reducing their ranks. These are the results of the periodic review study on the personnel prospects of Bulgaria in the third quarter of 2017. 620 employers of the country took part in the study.
BY REGION
The most significant activation of the labor market in the period July-September 2017 is expected by businessmen from Varna and Plovdiv (net employment forecast +14%). They are followed by employers in Burgas (+11%), Ruse (+10%) and Sofia (+9%). Compared to the previous quarter, Improvements in the prospects of the labor market occurred in the cities of Varna, Burgas and Ruse. A certain decline (compared to the previous quarter) was observed in Plovdiv (-8%) and Sofia (-6%). BY SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY
The most active recruitment is expected in the sector "Finance, insurance, real estate and business services". The "net" forecast for employment growth, according to the surveyed employers, will be +18%. This is the highest figure in more than six years – from the beginning of the relevant ManpowerGroup research. The second place was taken by the Construction sector with an indicator of +16%. At +15%, employers assessed the prospects of the sectors "Agriculture, fishing, hunting and forestry", "Manufacturing" and "Wholesale and retail trade".
The sector of "Restaurant and hotel business" received a not very high percentage of growth in prospects – plus 6%. Compared to the previous quarter, business plans here have not changed. On an annualized basis, even a slight decline of 2% is expected.
BY THE SIZE OF ENTERPRISES
The most "promising" turned out to be large employers in Bulgaria (from 250 or more employees). The survey showed that their plans are in line with the "net" employment forecast (NPI) of +25%. For medium-sized firms, this figure was +14%, for small enterprises +9%, for "micro" – plus 6%.
