Choosing a Bulgarian resort

Выбор болгарского курорта

With the onset of summer, many people rush to the warm sea and the gentle sun. Bulgarian resorts are annually waiting for vacationers, tempting them with low prices for Europe, delicious products and wonderful beaches. The choice of a vacation spot is often made at random. Tourists go to the most famous resorts, such as Golden Sands or Sunny Beach. However, there are many other cozy corners in Bulgaria that are worth visiting.

For the most demanding

Bulgarian prices for holidays are democratic, but there are places that are considered especially prestigious. This is, for example, Albena, a large resort located on the territory of the reserve. This resort is considered a children's resort, it is preferred by families with children.
Another option is the resort of Elenite, located at the foot of the Balkan Mountains. This is a gated community for respectable recreation.
Dunes is a quiet village with club hotels. Lozenets is a prestigious place for recreation, where wealthy Bulgarians prefer to relax.
Golf clubs in the Kavarna area are a great place for fans of aristocratic sports.

Budget holidays

If you distract yourself from the famous resorts, you can find places in Bulgaria where you can relax very inexpensively. It is worth paying attention to resort towns and small villages. Budget holidays are offered in Ravda, Balchik, Aheloy, Pomorie, Byala, Kranevo, Obzor and some other resorts, as well as directly in Varna and Burgas.

You can rent inexpensive apartments in Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas, where there are so many such offers that prices are constantly decreasing.

Holidays with children

Albena is considered an ideal place for children's recreation – golden beaches, fresh forest air and a lot of entertainment await young tourists. Also, resorts located far from noisy cities are well suited for family holidays – Byala, Obzor, Kranevo. A good choice would be Sveti Vlas – this is a cozy town on the southern coast, which is easily accessible from the airport in Burgas.

To improve health

There are many healing springs in Bulgaria, and near the town of Pomorie there is a whole lake of therapeutic mud. You can stay in a SPA hotel, go to a mud bath or collect mud in the lake yourself. Mud therapy is good for dermatological diseases and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. There are also healing muds near Burgas and Balchik.

The resort of Sveti Konstantin and Elena is famous for its hot springs. Many hotels offer spa treatments, and there is also a large complex with pools full of mineral water.

Interesting excursions

Bulgarian attractions are concentrated mainly in the central part of the country, but there are pleasant exceptions. These are:

  • Nessebar – this resort attracts vacationers with its ancient churches, interesting architecture and wonderful views.
  • Sozopol – located on a peninsula, the resort has retained the ancient atmosphere of narrow streets.
  • Botanical Garden and Queen Mary's Palace. An interesting attraction is located on the edge of the resort town of Balchik.
  • Aladzha Monastery. The rock monastery is easily accessible on foot from the Golden Sands resort.
  • Beat the stones. Impressive stone columns created by nature are located near Varna. They are easily accessible by taxi.
  • Byala Fortress is located in the resort of the same name.
  • The Pomorie Monastery of St. George is located in Pomorie.
  • Castle "In Love with the Wind" in Ravadinovo. This relatively new attraction is easily accessible from Sozopol.

Travel companies offer trips to Romania or Turkey, as well as throughout the country with comfortable buses.

All at once

Seaside cities such as Varna and Burgas offer a full list of resort activities combined with the facilities of large settlements. There are not only beaches, restaurants and discos, but also shops, malls, museums, exhibitions. Prices in cities are always lower than in resorts.
Another advantage is transport accessibility. Both from Burgas and from Varna it is easy to get anywhere in the country, and usually without transfers. This is a good option for mobile people who do not plan to lie on the beach all day, but want to see the whole of Bulgaria.

Ideal for young people

Sunny Beach is considered the best place for young people who crave entertainment and dancing until the morning. This resort is always full of life and is the best place for those looking for adventure.

Golden Sands occupies an honorable second place in the ranking of youth resorts. It is also always noisy and fun here, although the resort is also considered suitable for children's recreation.

The resort of Primorsko is also popular with young people from all over Europe. Here you can have fun and inexpensively relax.
