Bulgarian prices for goods and Services are 48% of the EU average price level (SD). The most expensive to live in Denmark with its 139% of the average cost in the community. Life is slightly cheaper in Ireland (125%), Luxembourg and Sweden (124%), Finland and the UK (121%).

Slightly more funds than in Bulgaria will be needed by those living in Romania – 52% and in Poland – 53% of the SU. The most significant difference between prices in the EU countries is observed for alcohol and cigarettes, hotels and restaurants. In Bulgaria, the cost of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages is 56% of the average in the European Union. These "pleasures" will cost the most in Ireland and the UK – 175% and 162%, respectively. The reason for such a large gap is associated, among other things, with different levels of taxation.

The most affordable prices in Bulgaria were for hotels and restaurants – 44% of the SU. For comparison, in Romania they are 53%, in the Czech Republic 56%, 150% in Denmark and 144% in Sweden. The most insignificant difference was in the cost of consumer equipment. Bulgarian prices were 81% of the average European prices. The cost of food is not too different from other countries – 71%. This, by the way, is confirmed by the calculations of the cost of living in Sofia, which we cited in in this article. Although, of course, in Denmark, products will cost much more – 148% of the SD.
