Note to drivers!

To drive a car in Bulgaria, you need to know and follow the road rules. Ignorance "of the Law for Movement on the Bird" does not exempt from liability, even if it is the law of another state. Let's talk a little about paid parking in Bulgaria.

After all, most parking lots in Bulgaria are paid: the "blue zone" or "green zone", where paying for a parking space will cost you 1 leva per hour. These zones are marked with the appropriate marking: a blue or green stripe, as well as a sign on which you will find both the payment methods and the duration of the paid zone. The plate indicates a phone number by which you can pay for the service using a mobile phone by sending an SMS with the desired text (registration number of your car), but we recommend that a foreigner use traditional methods of paying for parking – this is a parking payment terminal or employees who work in parking lots, they are easy to recognize by a special form. They will help you choose a parking lot place and take payment. In Bulgarian cities and villages, it is allowed to drive at a speed of up to 50 km/h, on country roads the maximum permissible speed is 90 km/h. There are also expressways in Bulgaria, where you can drive at a speed of 120 – 140 km/h. But, moving on a good road surface in Bulgaria, do not forget to follow the speed limit. And if you do break the rules, then we do not advise you to argue with the police. The police have the right to collect a fine directly at the scene of the violation, in which case you will be issued a receipt for payment. Of course, you can refuse to pay the fine immediately and later go with a receipt to any bank branch, but if possible, it is better to pay the fine on the spot. And one more thing. We want to pay special attention to public transport. Public transport on Bulgarian roads has the right of way, it always needs to give way. Do not Overtake the bus when it has stopped to board or disembark passengers, it is better to stop and wait for the bus to leave the stop. If you have a paper sticker that expires after this date, you reserve the right to use the toll road network until the paper vignette expires.
